Blue Bluff Nature Preserve

Blue Bluff Nature Preserve is located on 33 acres in Morgan County.  This steep 210-foot shale and siltstone bluff is part of a rugged, forested slope and upland area above the West Fork of the White River.  It is at the southern edge of the Wisconsin glaciation of the Ice Age and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the White River as well as the flatlands to the north.

The mixed hardwood forest has an abundance of ferns and spring wildflowers.  Of special interest is the presence of a rare purple-flowering raspberry shrub (pictured above).

Blue Bluff Nature Preserve is located between Centerton and Martinsville in Morgan County.  Click here for an aerial map of the property.
