Frank Ratcliff Memorial Forest

The Frank Ratcliff Memorial Forest is a 57-acre property owned by the Central Indiana Land Trust.  This hardwood forest is filled with Beech, Sugar Maple, Tulip Poplar, Basswood, Red Oak, and Sycamore trees.

Surrounding a pond on the northern half of the property is a thick stand of Eastern White Pine.  On the southern half of the property is a stream with a smooth black New Albany shale bottom, laid in the Paleozoic era 250 million years ago.  Many native wildflowers also grace the floor of this forest.

This property is located in just off of US 50 in Jennings County, southeast of Indianapolis.  Click here for a map to the property.
