Wapihani Nature Preserve is located along the White River in the rapidly growing town of Fishers. It was purchased with White River Restoration Trust funds in early 2006. Riverside Middle School is located immediately south of CILTI’s property. The property will be available for students to utilize as an outdoor educational laboratory, and the students will be learning about the natural features and history of this property.

Because this property was formerly agricultural, a portion of it will be restored to a native floodplain forest, and the remaining portion will be planted with warm-season grasses and prairie forbs. We look forward to protecting, restoring, and sharing this special area with Riverside Middle School and the residents of Fishers.
